Who We Are.

Building a stronger future for humanitarian response.

Global Response Hub™ is an independent organization dedicated to improving disaster response and the communities it serves.

We believe the people and organizations responding to crises deserve improved visibility, stronger coordination, and greater situational awareness to deliver critical support to those who need it most.

Our work is grounded in firsthand field experience and informed by years of leading complex global operations. We believe practical innovation can help solve real-world challenges, strengthen response capabilities, and better support the people and organizations working on the front lines of disaster response.

While every disaster is unique, the need for trusted collaboration remains constant. We are committed to advancing a humanitarian community that is better connected, better informed, and better equipped to serve communities affected by crisis.

Our Mission.

To challenge conventional approaches to disaster response by developing trusted, innovative solutions that empower responders, strengthen the humanitarian community, and improve outcomes for communities affected by crisis.

We envision a more connected and collaborative humanitarian community where organizations can work together more effectively while preserving their unique missions, enabling more coordinated response efforts and stronger outcomes for communities affected by crisis, while fostering long-term resilience.

Our Vision.

Our Approach.

We believe in keeping things simple, smart, and human. Effective solutions should be practical, adaptable, and designed to support—not complicate—the work of those on the front lines.

Meaningful innovation begins by understanding real-world challenges.

Our approach is shaped by firsthand experience, operational insight, and a commitment to strengthening collaborative efforts across the disaster response landscape.

Our Seven Guiding Principles.

These seven guiding principles serve as the foundation for everything we do. They shape our decisions, strengthen our relationships, and keep us focused on creating meaningful, lasting impact.

Based in Austin, Texas, Joanna Rieser is the Founder & CEO of Global Response Hub™. She combines a background in leading complex global operations with firsthand disaster response experience to build practical solutions that strengthen coordination across the disaster response community.

Joanna holds a B.A. in International Relations and Diplomacy from The Ohio State University. Over the past decade, she has led complex global operations and programs across the Americas, EMEA and APAC within multinational organizations, including a Fortune 100 company. Throughout her career, she has specialized in solving operational challenges, developing governance frameworks, and building systems and processes that support effective decision-making in dynamic environments.

As Founder and CEO of Global Response Hub™, Joanna leads the company’s mission to develop practical solutions that help organizations respond more effectively. Her work is grounded in the belief that the disaster response community is strongest when organizations can collaborate more effectively while preserving their own missions and independence. That conviction remains the foundation of Global Response Hub™.

Outside of her professional work, Joanna is a devoted mother of one and a seasoned ultramarathon runner. She enjoys exploring new trails with her son, and competing in endurance races across the country. Joanna believes the qualities that define endurance racing—humility, preparation, perseverance, adaptability, resilience and grit—are equally essential during disaster response.

Those same principles continue to guide her leadership, her service, and the mission of Global Response Hub™.

Keep moving forward.
